Childhood spent waiting,
to go skating,
in the rain

It won't stop yet,
so our best bet
is just to roll
in the wet

Puddles on grip tape
soggy ply wood
Dirt in wheels
and rusty bearings

But we've no reaosn to complain,
all that matters,
is we're mad as hatters
skating in the rain

A wise man once said choose your battles carefully. An even wiser man said before you go to war, you better know what you're fighting for.

Rarely do I go to war. But this is one battle that I've chosen, taken up arms, and drawn up a strategy. Because what we're fighting for is more important than ever. In fact, it's the very essence of life itself.

Every child, every man, every woman ever creature. Every human has the right to expression.

And this includes skateboarders.

We have our chosen sport. Our chosen outlook. Our chosen way of life. An every one of us has the right to skateboard. That's something I;m passionate about. It's something every skateboarder who has been told to 'go away', to 'stop skating here' is also passionate about.

Skateboards are harmless. They are an incredible form of physical expression and mental stimulation. They have no engines, no heavy rubber tyres and no polluting fumes. They have as much right to be on a public highway as does a bicycle.

Yes, this is about skateboarding. But it's also about freedom. Freedom to be who and what we choose to be. To live as we like within the law. And that means on a skateboard, too. Because as we all know...
